One of the reasons we need salvation through Christ is that we cannot always know, in advance, the correct, good choice. We error, in our ignorance and poor calculation.
Case in point is Trump’s latest peace agreement with the IRGC. Is he taking the Christian path of mercy, forgiveness, and trust? Or is he appeasing evil, which will result in the future deaths of innocents? Only time will tell. If Trump’s intentions are good, we trust God will be forgiving of whatever errors Trump makes.
We trust God will be forgiving of ALL the errors we make - but our intentions must be in accordance with God’s law!
"So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this undertaking is of men, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!” Acts 5:38-39
Our constant challenge is apprehending God's Will in every circumstance.
Islam is a false religion. Islam's adherents are at best misguided, and at worst demonic. I have little doubt that, did Islam exist in the time of Leviticus, it would have numbered among the abominable practices condemned by God.
Except Islam comes after Leviticus. "Arab" and"Muslim" are not enumerated among the peoples God condemned to extinction. Where does that leave Iran with respect to relations with the predominantly Christian West?
While it is clear that Christianity cannot have and should not seek rapprochement with Islam, should we therefore pursue the elimination of the Islamic Republic?
Some will say we should. Some will make geopolitical arguments, and some will make Biblical and moral arguments.
Are they wrong?
President Trump sees an honorable peace with Iran.
Is he wrong?
If God means for the Iranian people to be extinguished as penalty for centuries of degenerate worship of a false god, President Trump's peace deal will not preserve the Iranians. If God is yet inclined towards mercy for the Iranians, those calling for the Islamic Republic's eradication will not stand.
I want there to be peace. I want all people to live in harmony with one another. If President Trump's negotiations will achieve that I am grateful for them. We should not ever be eager for war.
What I know is this: deal or no deal, God's Will shall be done.

Bless you always, dear Peter.

You really are a wonderful soul, Peter!
Pooh. You’re my favorite person on this planet.
Thanks!
But I'm just a stubborn engineer and accountant, for better or worse.
