Through choosing faith, you may have paid a price and have lost friends, but you have earned new ones, who admire and respect you for your strength, wisdom, and righteousness.

Doors close and doors open.

The challenge is always to stay the course. To stick to what is right regardless of what others around us say or do. That is especially true when faced with people who dismiss or denigrate faith and spirituality.

It's not that faith is a grueling difficult thankless task. Quite the contrary, it is deeply and profoundly rewarding. But when choices compel us to let go of friends, and to separate from those we have previously loved, it would be foolish and disingenuous to deny that there is a measure of pain and loss associated with that.

No man ever enjoys losing a friend, or becoming separated from a friend. We are social animals--we want our friends to stick around. Just that sometimes it doesn't work out that way.
