As always, I love your wisdom, Peter. And ALL of us are befuddled and confused regarding God. He is so far beyond our comprehension in magnificence that we would have to BE God to fully understand all that He Is.

Suppose you left a math textbook open on a picnic table, and a sparrow landed on it and began to peck at the math problems. There is no way possible that the bird could solve those equations, right? What’s more, the sparrow could not grasp the concept of math, or of books, or of reading. We are that sparrow, not having even the ability to comprehend what we are experiencing as God.

But that’s alright, because God makes himself known in your heart and through your intuition. If you feel at peace, if you feel love, if you feel His Devine Presence, then you are in synch with God, even though you cannot rationally comprehend it all.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” - II Timothy 1:7

This is why Jesus and His disciples would say, “Go in peace”, and “Be at peace”. That mindset is the “frequency” of abiding with God. Be at peace, Peter, and know that you are loved.

Thank you for saying that. I appreciate the kind words and the high praise!

Hopefully I will always be worthy of it.

I figure all anyone can do is turn to God and place matters in His more than capable hands.

I find it is not at all easy to hear Him. Between the dreck of the world and my own doubts and fears recognizing what is of God and what is not is quite the challenge.

But trusting God remains the best choice. I might misunderstand, but I know that all will be set right in its time.

All of your life you have excelled in rational, analytical thought, Peter. Spock-like, you have mostly disdained emotions. But to hear the voice of God, you have to tune into your emotions. Not the unhinged kind, but the god-like emotions of joy, appreciation, love, connection, and caring.

Here is a tactic to try: work to just stay in an attitude of gratitude. Wake up in the morning and begin FEELING appreciation and gratitude for everything. Be grateful that you open your eyes and you can see. Be grateful that you can hear the birds singing, smell your coffee brewing, get instant updates on the world because of the internet, be able to walk up and down stairs - be grateful for everything! The trick lies in FEELING the gratitude, because then you are on a frequency of loving and trusting God. Then, while feeling this profound gratitude towards God, you can communicate with God. You are on the same frequency or wavelength, or however it works, because you are FEELING. While feeling gratitude towards God, you can ask him for guidance, an asking that is not based on fearful thoughts, but on the joy that comes from knowing you are interacting with a Presence who loves you. Be still, feel your gratitude, and guidance will come. The right thoughts will pop into your head, the right words will come, the wisdom will come.

On Sunday mornings, after giving thanks, and feeling gratitude to God for so many things, I ask him, “What does Peter need to hear from me today?” I hope what I say has been resonating with you, dear friend.

As it so happens, I begin each day reciting Psalm 100, the Lord's Prayer, and Psalm 23 in that order.

Cultivating mindfulness is a daily challenge, but also a daily habit.

Yes. Remember, it’s crucial to FEEL the gratitude and sentiment of the Psalms, not just think them. It’s been said that God vibrates at the highest frequency of Pure Love, and that is a feeling - one that is beyond words.

In one of the early Star Trek movies, Spock had been undergoing rigorous Vulcan training to purge all remaining emotions. But by the end of the movie, he is grasping Kirk’s hand in friendship, saying something like, “This simple feeling is what matters”. That is entrainment with the God frequency. Caring. Connection. Friendship. It’s what the Holy Spirit is all about. Sensing God’s love, encouragement, advice, and connection happens through this.

Blessings to you, Peter.
