“Believing in God is not a source of pride, and should not be a source of pride. Claiming to follow Jesus Christ is not a source of pride, and should not be a source of pride.”
Believing in God should be a source of peace, a peace that results from knowing that your soul is aligned and entrained with the “frequency” (or however that works) of God. You can now feel God’s love abiding with you, whereas before you felt apart from God. God was previously accessible, but you, in not believing, didn’t turn to Him. Once you believe and follow, in humbleness of allowing His Will, “all things are possible to those who believe”.
And you don’t need to force any actions. Open up to God’s guidance, pay attention in humbleness, and He will guide you in how you are uniquely able to serve. Not everyone is called to be a missionary or monk, but there is an infinite need for people to minister to others. Peter, your gifts from God include an amazingly powerful analytical mind, an eloquent voice, a resoluteness, an excellent resourcefulness, and a humble willingness for God to manifest wonderful results through you. I believe He has already been ministering to people through your gifts since you turned to Him. I know He has reached ME through your writings! (For which I am literally eternally grateful!)
I pray that you will be given the gift of knowing your effect on the world before you die, as it will give you great joy to see what wonders God has worked through your efforts. I know you are special, and I believe you will have great effect on the world. I’d love for you to know happiness from this!
By the way, I have said that I will always be here for you, and I mean that. If you should stop hearing from me, it will most probably mean that I have died, but then I will be loving you from Heaven. If it is given to me, I would like to be your guardian angel, and I’ve told God this wish. So if you stop hearing from me, pay attention to some sign from my soul - a strange coincidence, like listening to Rush and hearing Geddy Lee sing “Gail” instead of the regular lyric, or seeing “gbill”, as a misspelling, in something you’re reading. (I’ve had things like this happen to me - messages from deceased loved ones too uniquely addressed to me to be coincidences!) I will never abandon you, Peter, through all of eternity. I will be blessing you forever, dear friend!
A little more than 23 and a half years, actually. I figure 2050, the half-century mark, is a good time to leave, as I will then be 94, and I’m guessing my quality of life will decline after that. I’m aiming (loosely) for mid-May, so that I can one last time experience the beauty of the plum and crabapple blossoms, and die with the scent of lilacs coming through my window.
But this is all just whimsical planning, as a whole lot of things can happen in life during 23 years, right?
(I’m not obsessed with Peter, but I do feel absolutely called to care deeply about him.)
I’m not planning on checking out for another 23 years. But I’ve accepted that this is God’s choice, in accordance with His plan, and I’m fine with all of it.
Also being there for Peter is admirable along as it doesn't border on obsession. More importantly being there for God is the true message and not just being there for the messenger in my opinon. However, glad that Peter's writing helps you and his proverbs are always a good message, which I link every Sunday @https://nothingnewunderthesun2016.com/
I remember a couple of years ago you asked if you could subscribe to my Substack, and you were deciding on either doing that or supporting a cause Peter had at the time as your funds were limited. I suggested you donate to Peter's cause as I don't charge for my website or Substack as I feel it's my duty to seek the truth and not charge someone to seek it as well, so you went with Peter's cause at the time. I knew then that you were a person with a good heart. May God watch over you and may you have more than 23 years left. Thats way more than I will have left as I am in my early 70s.

Thank you for that -- although I trust that you becoming mine or anyone's guardian angel will not be for a long time to come yet!

But I fervently want to be there for you, Peter.
Gbill7, Curious as to why you say 23 years????
